Earth Hour 2011 will be held on 26th March 2011. This is a gentle awareness as well as reminder to my friends & readers. Kindly switch off the lights on the day stated above, from 8.30p.m. to x.xxp.m/a.m. Why do I stated the time so? Hehe, I will explain later on :).
This is a globally event, over 128 countries participate in this activity. Everyone is invited to participate. (Yes, I'm staring at you... lol.)
Interesting fact 1:
Earth Hour is held on the last Saturday of March. "This is because the last weekend of March is around the time of the Spring and Autumn equinoxes in the northern and southern hemispheres respectively, which allows for near coincidental sunset times in both hemispheres, thereby ensuring the greatest visual impact for a global ‘lights out’ event."-Earth Hour, 2011.

Above is the Earth Hour Logo [60 Earth Hour]. The '60' represented 60 minutes of Earth Hour.
This is the new updated Earth Hour Logo [60+ Earth Hour] in 2011, together with their new slogan: "This Earth Hour, Go Beyond The Hours". '60+' in the logo encourages people all over the world to increase commitment of Earth Hour to go beyond 60 minutes.
Switch off the light from 8.30p.m. and let this meaningful activity goes beyond 9.30p.m. That's why the time stated is from 8.30p.m. to (unknown).
Interesting fact 2:
So is it means all the lights and electricity in the house have to be switched off? "The answer is NO. Actually Earth Hour only asks you to turn off the non-essential lights as well as lights that won't affect public safety, e.i. traffic light. Things like refrigerator no need to turn off."-Earth Hour, 2011.
Hey, you think your computer/lappy/TV's lights are essential lights?
Eh come on, let's make an engagement, "Turn off the Lights, Talk to the Moon"-Naoko Stoop, in Earth Hour 2011. This is so cute kan! A good idea, it could be a romantic night. We may talk to the moon, stare on the stars......
...and together we enjoy the night with soft wind and candles all around, although we're not doing it at the same place, not doing it face to face, but haha, physically not but mentally we're doing it together XDD. Oh ya, candles are allowed for the night, with requirement. Please choose natural, not petroleum-based candle products.
Let's do it together, focus on the impact we are having on our planet and take positive action to address the environmental issues we face. See what is the power of combined effort from people globally can be done to the Earth?
Save our only home--the Earth, which is getting sicker. Actions have to be done, to make our biggest home a comfortable home, for now and for the future; for our generation and also for the next generation. Please support Earth Hour 2011, your participatory will be highly appreciated. *winks*
